How to Use Tirzepatide:

1. Preparation for Injection:

– Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.

– Inspect the Mounjaro pen to ensure it is not damaged and that the medication is clear and colorless.

– Attach a new needle to the pen and prime it by turning the dose selector to 0.5 mg, then pressing the injection button until you see a drop of medicine at the tip of the needle to ensure proper flow.

2. Injecting the Medication:

– Choose an injection site on your thigh, abdomen, or upper arm. Rotate your injection sites each week to avoid irritation or discomfort.

– Clean the area with an alcohol swab and allow it to dry before injecting.

– Insert the needle at a 90-degree angle into the skin and press the button to inject the full dose.

– Hold the needle in place for about 6 seconds to ensure the full dose is administered.

3. Post-Injection:

– Remove the needle and dispose of it in a sharps container.

– Replace the pen cap and store it in the refrigerator (do not freeze).

– Mounjaro should be injected once a week, on the same day each week, at a time that works best for you, with or without food.

Dosage and Administration:

– Starting Dose: Typically, 2.5 mg once a week for the first 4 weeks to allow your body to adjust.

– Maintenance Dose: After 4 weeks, the dose may be increased to 5 mg, 7.5 mg, or 10 mg weekly, depending on your doctor’s recommendations and your progress.

– The maximum recommended dose is 15 mg once a week.
